PCOS treatment in Chennai starts with the right diagnosis. Irregular periods, acne, weight change and difficulty conceiving can have more than one cause. A gynaecologist will not treat “PCOS” from a social-media checklist alone.
Common symptoms
Cycles longer than 35 days, very few periods a year, excess hair, persistent acne, and trouble losing weight. Not everyone with PCOS has cysts visible on scan, and not every ovarian cyst is PCOS.
How we diagnose
History, examination, pelvic ultrasound when useful, and blood tests (hormones, thyroid, sugar/insulin as indicated). We look for conditions that mimic PCOS so treatment is not guesswork.
Treatment options
Lifestyle measures remain first-line for many. Cycle regulation, metabolic medicines when appropriate, and ovulation induction if pregnancy is the goal. Fertility pathways may include IUI or IVF only when needed. Day-to-day gynaecology care is on our gynaecologist in KK Nagar page.
When to book
If periods have been unpredictable for months, if you are planning pregnancy, or if previous “PCOS” advice did not come with tests, book Dr. Sharadha SO. at SRS, KK Nagar.
